Marketing and advertising are interconnected for as long as anyone can remember. The word “marketing” is often overused and it often represents several other things than marketing. Also, there are many types of agencies: marketing, communications, e-marketing, public relations and advertising and most seem to have very similar service offering.

With such a confusing landscape, one can easily ask: what is marketing? What role does advertising occupy in marketing? And why is this important for me and my business?
